Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can you cut arrows that I didn’t buy from your store?

Yes, we will cut, fletch, nock and point arrows not purchased from our store
  2. What is involved in tuning a bow? There are many steps involved in tuning a bow, from setting the bow up, to levelling your bow, paper tuning your arrows and bow, to then getting appropriate site marks. Bow tuning usually takes a couple of hours depending on the bow and what needs to be changed.
  3. Do you offer lessons? At the moment we do not offer lessons at our location, we aim to do that in the near future. Currently our coaches are located at Peterborough Fish and Game Association. Should you wish to book a lesson/lessons please send us an e-mail and we will get you set up (redheadarchery5@gmail.com)
  4. What is the best bow for someone looking to just hunt? There is not necessarily a perfect bow for hunting, there are many different brands and many different features to each bow, the best thing to do is to try out some bows and have a Bow Technician teach you about each bow. Once you find the right fit for you, that’s when you know it’s the best bow.
  5. Do you take trade-ins? Yes we do, we need to assess the equipment before taking it in. We reserve the right to not accept equipment if we feel it is not fit for our store. We will not take in all equipment (ex: we will not accept used arrows)
  6. Do you sell used equipment? We carry a variety of used bows, sights, and releases. We ensure the used products are in good used shape and ensure it is safe to use. We do not sell used arrows.
  7. How do I begin competition shooting? It is fairly easy, you must be a member of Archery Ontario if you wish to compete in Ontario and Canada. You next find an archery range that is hosting an event, and register for the event. Show up to the event, and compete. If you have further questions please email us at redheadarchery5@gmail.com
  8. Do you carry target and hunting supplies? Yes we carry all things archery for hunting and target. We carry a variety of hunting accessories as well to help you have a successful hunt.
  9. At what age can I start shooting? You can start shooting as young as 8 years old, and can shoot up until any age you are comfortable. Archery is a lifelong sport, and people of all ages can shoot recreationally or competitively.
  10. Can you repair my bow? We will need to see the bow before saying yes or no. Often the bows can be fixed, however we need to assess if the bow is safe of cracks, or other damage before beginning the repair.
